Reading has been one of the greatest enjoyments in my life. It would follow that my career took the path I have been on in the legal field, which involves a lot of proofreading skills. Reading books of many genres is also my primary hobby. I read at least three books a week, so words are my best friends.
I have over twenty (20) years of experience as a proofreader in various practices of real estate law, title law, and management, along with legal office work as a paralegal and I have used this skill in a landman services business. This includes the following;
Proofreading various legal documents for city government, contracts, city ordinances, and county record filings for the county government.
Research – Texas Legal Statutes, County Court Records, and Corporate filings.
As I have matured and embraced my passion of reading from a different perspective, I have polished my proofreading skills to encompass books, novels, manuscripts and manuals. My work is my pleasure and I get to work with incredible people doing amazing things.
I can adjust quickly to any different application presented. That being said, I also realize that with every project there is always something new to learn. It is my philosophy that we humans should never stop learning and I look forward every day to learning something new.
I am diligent and reliable in my ability to produce an excellent work product and committed to a high standard of work ethic.
Most people that I encounter have never heard the term landman and it always sparks a conversation. In fact, after years of working in the fields of land management and procurement, I saw the importance of a landman in the puzzle of the world of land and explored this niche. As a young girl, I grew up in far West Texas on the Rio Grande River near the Big Bend National Park on a ranch with the rest of my 13th generation Texan family. It inspired me to appreciate the nuances of life and the details that are found within nature and the land. This is built into the fabric of my being and is a true gift that I get to bring to my work. Books were a part of my everyday life and many have been written about my family, including the book above about my Uncle Apache. I love the creative process and how stories unfold on the pages.
